After too many years as business owner, magazine art director, graphic designer, freelance editor and book designer, DIANE THORNTON now puts her own images to paper--painting, drawing (and writing) to her heart's content.
Often combining watercolor with pen-and-ink, her illustrative creations range from cartoons to abstracts, featuring everything from florals to street scenes, teddy bears to hula girls. She also dallies in acrylics, oils, and reclaimed paper assemblage.
Though she finds 'artist statements' a bit pretentious, she does offer this: 'I'm always looking to try new things--new mediums, new subjects, new processes. I'm not much for expounding on my art as an expression, reflection or commentary on this or that. If it looks fun, I just go for it.'
She hopes you find her work appealing and invites you to stop by thorntonarts.com, where you can take a quick peek into her brain, peruse more of her creations, and read excerpts from her imaginative fiction. Go to thorntonarts here.

Check back often because she's always putting up more images.
Art Directors take note: If you see a style you like, she's available.
REMEMBER, THE FINE ARTS AMERICA WATERMARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON YOUR CUSTOM PRINT. That's just to ward off thieves who ignore copyrights. Speaking of which...
